Monday's Musings: What the Postman Knew

Modified and used 5/22/20
Romans 12:2  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Last Friday evening while I was at the film showing at the park a member introduced me to my mail carrier.  Before she could give my name he recited my name and address.  I quipped that I was glad I didn't order any “bad” magazines.  He replied, “Yes you do, the orange one.”  That's Joe's Clemson magazine. He said that I like horses. Guess the Appaloosa Journal gave that away.  I never considered what an attentive mail carrier could learn about the people on their route.  It reminded me that even though we might not always be conscious of it people are watching. Yesterday I said we preach sermons with our lives. What might your sermon be saying?  Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Please help us Lord to live each day knowing that others are learning by our example, good or bad.  Teach us your ways so that we may live blessed and happy lives and show Christ to others through our words and deeds.  It’s in His name we pray, Amen.

Have a great week!
Paige
