Tuesday’s Musings: The Homeless Dress as Superheroes

Hebrews 13:2  Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

My friend Alan was telling me Sunday about his recent family trip to Las Vegas. He told me how expensive everything was and that everything out there was just “over the top.” Then he said that even the homeless people were over the top.  They dressed in superhero outfits.  Some were superheroes and some were other movie characters.  Apparently they make money by letting people pose with them.  How enterprising.  I wish I had the answer to the problem of homelessness in America.  It’s overwhelming, especially to those who try to minister to them.  I do believe this: you never know when the homeless person you meet might be a true superhero.

Hello God.  Thank you that tonight I will have a place to sleep and as much food as I want to eat and any kind of medical care I need.  Help me and all who worship you to see the best in others, especially the strangers.  We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

In Christ,
Paige
