2 Timothy 4:3-4 (GW) A time will come when people will not listen
to accurate teachings. Instead, they will follow their own desires and surround
themselves with teachers who tell them what they want to hear. People will
refuse to listen to the truth and turn to myths.
Last night the Miami Heat won their second NBA championship
in a row. One player said that it took hard work, but they succeeded. Player
Dwayne Wade gave a thoughtful interview.
He said that you just have to close your ears to the naysayers and do
what you need to do. That’s good advice
for everyone attempting to do something significant. That doesn’t mean ignore
all advice; especially the advice of wise people but often people who aren’t involved
in your venture will tend to see the pitfalls before the possibilities. Listen to God who wants to inhabit every
corner of our lives including our relationships, our work, our play and our
working to share the Gospel and to help other people.
Lead us Lord as we share our hopes and dreams with you.
Please bring wise people into our lives and help us also to discern your will.
We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Happy Friday!
