Philippians 4:10-12 I
was very glad in the Lord because now at last you have shown concern for me
again. (Of course you were always concerned but had no way to show it.) I’m not saying this because I need anything,
for I have learned how to be content in any circumstance. I know the experience of being in need and of
having more than enough; I have learned the secret to being content in any and
every circumstance, whether full or hungry or whether having plenty or being
poor.
William A Ward wrote, “The pessimist complains about the
wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. Let’s face it, not many people would describe
their life as pure paradise. There are
always challenges and disappointments and compromises mixed with the great
things. The secret to living a happy
life is to seek the same peace through our faith in Jesus Christ that Saint
Paul had. When we look to Jesus for our
priorities some of the things that bother us will not seem as important as they
might otherwise.
Loving God, we pray that you give us eyes to see the good in
all circumstances. Thank you for giving us hope when things do not go as we
wish. We pray in the name of the One who
is our peace. Amen.
Happy Friday!
