Monday’s Musings: Glimpses of Goodness USED

Modified and used 8-21-20
John 15:13  Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Friday night we saw a superb movie at Christ Church in the park as part of the Independent Filmmakers series.  It was a documentary which followed a woman who decided to become a living kidney donor.  She had no family member or friend who needed a kidney; this was a totally altruistic venture.   While she was not laying down her life, there were certainly risks associated with the surgery and afterward. Even so, she saw that she had something that could mean life for another person and felt that she should do something about it.  With so much bad stuff going on in the world it was refreshing to see such a lovely story.

Thank you God for the times when we get glimpses of goodness when so much that seems very wrong comes to us in the news each day. Bless those who bless others with the gift of life.  In Christ’s name, amen.

Have a great Monday,
Paige
