Wednesday’s Musings: Flowers in Winter

Ecclesiastes 3:1  There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.

Hooray! Today is the last day of a cold, wet winter. Although the weather may not be dramatically different tomorrow on the first day of spring, just knowing the seasons have changed will be a comfort.  Already over the past weeks the earth has been giving up its barrenness and putting forth blooms to cheer us.  Pansies and violas bloom all winter long.  When you see blooms in winter let them remind you that even in the winter of your life, those hard times seemingly barren of hope there are blooming places if one but looks for them.  Even though it is sometimes difficult to sense, God is surely present in every season of our life.

Thank you God for your constant presence with us.  Thank you for the beautiful blooms of spring. Help them to remind us of the renewal you offer us through our faith. In Christ’s name we pray, amen.
Blessings,
Paige
