Proverbs 12:25 (NLT) Worry weighs a person down; an
encouraging word cheers a person up.
It never fails doesn’t it?
Whenever you’re in a hurry, things start going wrong. I was trying to get out of the house and
grabbed the necklace I intended to wear only to discover a knot in the
chain. First I had to find my glasses so
I could see the knot! I quickly found
that the weight of the pendant was pulling the knot tight as I was trying to
loosen it. I dawned on me to rest the
pendant on the bed and relieve the tension.
The knot immediately came out.
Sometimes, I thought our burdens and anxieties weigh us down so badly
that we can’t function. Our body is
tense, our muscles are knotted and nothing seems to go well. That is when we should cast our cares upon
Christ, to lay our burdens down at the foot of the cross. I’ve never seen anxiety make anything
better. Instead seek that encouraging
word through scripture and through those who love us. Need an encouraging word? Call me.
Heavenly Father, come to us in our troubles and calm our
anxious hearts. Bring us your peace and
insight. We ask this in your Son’s name. Amen.
Have a blessed week,
Paige
