Thursday’s Musings - The Busy Brain Shuffle  Modified and used 2-9-20
Luke 10:41-42 The Lord answered, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things. One thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the better part. It won’t be taken away from her.” 

I sometimes use the Shuffle feature for my iPhone playlists when I’m walking.  I did that the other day and enjoyed the music as it jumped randomly from one song to another.  I suddenly thought how much that reminded me of my brain at times and immediately recalled this scripture.  I want to be Mary and sit still and learn from Jesus but often I’m more like Martha, scurrying about with a hundred things on my mind.  Let’s remember Psalms 46:10-11. “He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”

Lord, when we get too busy for our own good, help us to slow down and be still and remember that you, our God will provide for us all that is necessary.  In Jesus name, amen.
