Proverbs 17:27 (NLT) A truly wise person uses few words; a person
with understanding is even-tempered.
Yesterday while at physical therapy I heard my therapist
James tell the person next to me how to exercise her leg, He said, “ You want to move enough to
activate but not to irritate.” I thought
that was good advice for many parts of our life including our faith. When we
get over enthusiastic about something we may not stop to ask the proper
questions. Is this scripture
interpretation correct? Should I have a
second helping of potatoes? Can I really afford this? Should I pass this juicy gossip along? It is good to be enthusiastic about life but
let’s remember moderation. We want to
activate things that will bring benefits to us but not go overboard and cause
irritation.
Holy God, teach us how to balance enthusiasm and
moderation. We ask your guidance through
the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Have a blessed day,
Paige
