Wednesday’s Devotion: Something Lovely as a Tree USED

Modified and used 2-21-22

John 10:10 (CEV)  A thief comes only to rob, kill, and destroy. I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest.

I’ve noticed that trees that stand by themselves in wide open spaces like pastures often have beautifully formed canopies.  On the other hand trees that grow while crowded by other trees often have branches that are twisted or stunted. Our life can be like a tree. Our growth, and our success can be stunted when we let things crowd us.  Maybe it’s undue influence by someone, or addictions or over commitment. Face it, there are tons of things that can steal our time and energy.  My goal is to clear some of those things away, to give myself space so that I can spread my branches and flourish like that beautiful tree in the pasture.

Creator God, you created us and give us many opportunities in life. Help us to choose wisely that we may flourish and have the abundant life that Jesus wishes for us.  We ask in his name, Amen.

Have a beautiful day,
Paige
